My name is Alan Spooner and am a former camper and member of the London DA until we moved away to Hampshire back in 1989. We are still good friends with some of our old member friends and I have a bit of sad news - Arthur Hale who was the husband of Vera Hale passed away on Monday morning having reached the ripe old age of 92. Vera is OK and has sorted out, with the help of her family, Arthur's funeral arrangements and we have just spoken to her today.
Arthur was a member of t...Read Full Post »

It is usual for the "next year" organisers to be on the working party to "shadow" their counterparts a year before their event, i.e. for us it would be the 2016 NFOL which is at Malvern thus please start planning now in preparation for joining the working party.

A letter from the Cambrian & Wyvern Region regarding the NFOL 2016 is set out below.

SER Dinner & Dance 2016
This is the social event not to be missed After all the hype of Christmas and New Year celebrations January can be a very flat month so why not liven it up by attending your Dinner & Dance. It is a fabulous evening, comfortable hotel right on the seafront and if we have 100 (or more) guests staying overnight we get sole use of the hotel (currently just 10 couples short).
How often do we campers get the chance to scrub up and dress up?
Well ...Read Full Post »

A BIG thank you to Sue & Laurie who stewarded the `Sea Fishing` meet this past w/e, the idea of welcoming back the fishermen with tea & cake was
brilliant , I suppose really `Fishcakes` would have been more appropriate. The weather was so kind to us, the walk to the Seven Sisters country park was great, Thanks also to Ian for maintaining order with the the fishing, knowing just how competitive that can get with the size of the `hauls` they get sometimes. Congratulations to Kevi...Read Full Post »

The best party in town
No need for a ball gown
It really will be super
After an American supper
You can dance the night away
To disco sounds of your day
Christmas starts here
Bring your own beer.
